Iowa football enters second weather delay against Nevada

We’re in a weather delay at Kinnick Stadium.

Yes, again.

This one could be a bit too.

Play has been halted for a second time tonight between Iowa and Nevada — this time at 10:07 p.m. — after lightning was spotted within eight miles of the stadium, which is the magic distance to warrant a stoppage of play. Played was previously stopped at 8:36 p.m. CT, after which an 80-minute delay followed. The Hawkeyes currently hold a 17-0 lead with 5:32 left in the third quarter

Saturday has been a needed offensive boost for the Hawkeyes, which had scored only 14 total points through their first two games. Freshman Kaleb Johnson got the scoring started with a 40-yard TD run late in the first quarter. Spencer Petras found Arland Bruce IV a few minutes later on a 21-yard scoring hookup to give Iowa a 14-0 lead. It was Petras’ first TD pass of the season.
